The COS Training Resource Center holds a contract with the Workforce Investment Board (WIB) in order to offer the trainings below for Tulare County employers. If you are a part of the healthcare or industrial sectors, you may qualify for these trainings at no cost to you!
What kinds of trainings can the WIB fund under UpSkill, through COS?
This training will develop the people skills of your team members. Whether it’s problem solving, communication, teamwork, attitude, or organizational skills, these soft skills are essential to your front line workers.
The Supervisory Management Academy will help you clarify the scope and nature of a supervisory position and learn some ways to deal with the challenges of the role. You will also learn how to recognize the responsibilities you have as a supervisor, to yourself, your team, and your organization.
This class will help prepare new and emerging leaders to succeed by defining the roles, functions and responsibilities of great leaders. Learn how to delegate effectively, coach your employees and manage change in your organization.
- Basic Math for Manufacturing
This course will help students understand the fundamentals of math for in a way that is engaging, interesting, and relevant. The content of the course will enable students to learn and apply mathematics concepts to everyday practical applications tradesman encounter on daily basis.
The fundamental idea of Lean is to maximize customer value while minimizing waste. Eliminating or minimizing inefficiencies along entire organization, instead of at isolated points, creates processes that are easier, better, faster and less expensive and with much fewer defects, compared with traditional systems.
Lean means creating more value for customers using fewer resources. This course consists of a balance of lecture, discussions, and supplemental handout information. This class is designed to provide participants with the knowledge of Lean principles, as well as typical Lean tools and methods, so they can to begin their Lean exploration.
Are you a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)? Consider expanding your career and becoming a Restorative Nursing Assistant (RNA). An RNA focuses on rehabilitation and supports patients by increasing their strength and mobility. RNA’s typically work in assisted living facilities, therapy units, long term care facilities, rehab centers or through a home health agency. Through lecture, practice and skills tests, you will learn how to care for patients using restorative techniques. This training is certified by the Quality Care Health Foundation (QCHF)
