All of our online course offerings are not-for-credit (meaning you do not earn units) and are separate from the academic offerings of the College. Not-for-credit classes are not equivalent to credit offerings and cannot be used to meet prerequisites or to fulfill credit requirements.
Your career training is fully online, but that doesn’t mean you’re on this journey alone. The Certified Healthcare Documentation Specialist program focuses on the importance of clinical standards in the development of interoperable electronic health records. Learners will study best practices for several procedures, including (but not limited to) coding and reimbursement. This program also covers medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, medico-legal rules, and HIPAA.
The Dental Assistant program helps prepare individuals to take the Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) and National Entry Level Dental Assistant (NELDA) certification exams. Courses cover essential skills like infection control, dental radiology, patient care, and office management, helping learners gain the comprehensive knowledge needed for dental assisting careers.
The EKG Technician program helps individuals develop the skills needed to operate electrocardiogram machines, assist cardiologists, and prepare for the Certified EKG Technician (CET) exam. With online, self-paced learning and comprehensive support, participants gain knowledge in EKG procedures, patient care, and more, preparing for a dynamic healthcare role.
This Healthcare IT Professional program prepares individuals to sit for the CompTIA A+ certification exam. Topics covered include computer hardware/software, troubleshooting, healthcare documentation, and electronic health records.
Learn the skills you need to become a medical administrative assistant while preparing for two industry-recognized certifications. This Medical Administrative Assistant training program is designed to help you prepare for the Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) and Certified Electronic Health Records Specialist (CEHRS) certification exams. This program covers topics such as patient care coordination, medical laws and ethics, and electronic health records (EHR).
The CareerStep Medical Assistant program is designed to help prepare individuals to sit for their certification exams, including CCMA, CPT, and CET. The training covers essential areas such as patient care, medical terminology, and clinical procedures, equipping learners with practical knowledge for various healthcare settings.
The CareerStep Medical Billing training program includes essential knowledge for healthcare reimbursement processes. It covers key topics such as medical terminology, health information management, and revenue cycle management. This program also helps to prepare individuals to sit for the Certified Billing and Coding Specialist (CBCS) exam.
Take the first steps toward becoming a Medical Coding and Billing Professional. Topics covered in this program include reimbursement methodologies, biomedical sciences, and current code sets. This training includes a voucher for the CPC exam, the AAPC Practicode course, and a membership to the AAPC. The Medical Coding and Billing Professional program also helps prepare you to sit for the CBCS (Certified Billing and Coding Specialist) exam offered by NHA.
The Medical Office Manager training program helps you build skills in medical billing, healthcare regulations, office management, and computer applications. This program also includes the certification prep materials that you need to sit for the CMAA, CEHRS, and CBCS certification exams.
This program introduces the foundational knowledge and documentation skills needed to support healthcare providers in clinical settings. You’ll learn medical terminology, basic anatomy, pharmacology, and how to accurately transcribe physician notes and medical records. The curriculum also covers common procedures, administrative tasks, and electronic health record (EHR) navigation.
The CareerStep Medical Transcription Editing training program is certified and approved by the Approval Committee for Certificate Programs (ACCP), which is a joint committee established by the Association for Healthcare Documentation Integrity (AHDI) and the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA). This program covers topics like healthcare documentation and diagnostic reports. It also includes a transcription foot pedal, an AHDI membership, and a voucher to take the RHDS exam.
This program prepares you to support patients in clinical and long-term care settings while helping you build skills to pursue certifications such as CPCT/A, CPT, and CET. Training covers topics including anatomy, pharmacology basics, EKGs, and phlebotomy—with a venipuncture kit included for hands-on practice. You’ll also learn to assist with daily living activities, take vital signs, and collect lab specimens.
The Sterile Processing Technician program covers topics like understanding how HIPAA regulations apply to your work and standard sterile processing procedures. Your program will also help prepare you to sit for the Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) exam offered through the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA).
