Community Education

Part of the COS Training Resource Center, the Community Education office is committed to providing “Life-long Learning” opportunities to individuals in our community. We offer a wide-range of classes, from the just-for-fun classes to improving a skill or learning a new hobby. Whether you are looking for an educational enrichment or adventure class, we may have just what you’re looking for.

Community Education classes are short-term, not-for-credit, fee-based courses, workshops, and training programs. The program is self-supporting from class fees, receiving no funds from COS or the State of California. Fees are based on the instructor’s salary, enrollment, duration of the class administrative and operating costs.

Community Education classes are separate from the academic offerings of the College. Not-for-credit classes are not equivalent to credit offerings and cannot be used to meet prerequisites or to fulfill credit requirements.

Community Education is a unit of the COS Training Resource Center Department, offering classes on the Visalia campus and other off-campus sites in the community.

A list of current class offerings is listed below.

Note: We appreciate your patience as we are having to switch online registration systems, so the online registration method is currently unavailable. This is why we are taking registrations manually for the time being. Thank you.

You must pre-register for Community Education classes. Pre-registering secures your space in a class (some classes have limited enrollment) and allows us to notify you if a class is cancelled. Please scroll down page for more information on registration.

All classes require a minimum number of enrollments to be held and are subject to change and/or cancelled at the discretion of the department. You will not be able to register in the classroom.

See our Cancellation & Refund page for more information.

You can register online, 24-hours a day, 7 days a week.
