Build a strong foundation in industrial ammonia refrigeration with the Ammonia Operator I course. Designed for new operators, maintenance personnel, and anyone working around ammonia refrigeration systems, this training introduces the principles of safe system operation, equipment identification, and routine operating procedures. Participants will learn the fundamentals of refrigeration theory, system components, ammonia properties, safety practices, and basic troubleshooting while preparing for the Certified Assistant Refrigeration Operator (CARO®) pathway or other entry-level industry credentials.
This course emphasizes real-world applications, helping participants develop the knowledge and confidence needed to work safely and effectively in food processing, cold storage, beverage production, and other industrial refrigeration environments.

Title: Industrial Training Manager – Certified Industrial Partners
Bio: Justin has more than 30 years of experience in industrial refrigeration, including both operations and service work. For the past nine years, his focus has been on skills development and industry training. He remains actively involved in the industry through the RETA National Education Committee and as a member of the Northwest Arkansas RETA Chapter. In 2023, Justin received the Guy R. King Education Award, recognizing him as RETA’s Instructor of the Year for excellence in education at the national level. He assists with the development and delivery of both internal training and customized training for industry clients.
