This training builds on the Managing Personalities I training where we train participants how to identify and recognize different personalities, and better understand themselves and others. This training, Managing Personalities II, goes a step further and helps participants learn how their personality styles operate in conflict and provide practical, hands-on strategies to manage conflict more confidently and successfully when it arises.
(Note: Managing Personalities I is a prerequisite to this training).
It’s a given: Everyone experiences some kind of conflict in the workplace. Conflict can arise in many situations, but disagreements with coworkers is the main cause of strife. In fact, in an 18-month research study, nearly 100% of respondents cited interactions with coworkers as the primary cause of conflict at work. Conflict in the workplace also impacts employee morale and productivity. According to one study, a single employee spends nearly three hours every workweek trying to resolve some kind of conflict. Even worse, unresolved conflicts can impact employee engagement and have negative implications for company culture.
When handled in a respectful, positive way, conflict provides an opportunity to strengthen teams. Whatever the cause of disagreements and disputes, by learning the conflict management skills in this training, you can keep your personal and professional relationships strong and growing and find greater satisfaction and success at work and in life.
